So, if I app on two different days and am approved for both, I get 2 HP. But if I app for both CCs on the same day, then it's only 1 HP. Is that right?
I'm wondering if apping for more than 1 Amex on the same day increases chances of FR. It seems like it might raise some eyebrows or red flags with them, when they see someone opening/apping for multiple accts on the same day. I never would have even thought about it if I hadn't read about it here.
I'd like to test the waters with Zync and then go for Costco or BCE with only one inq. But don't want to do anything that would cause problems later. I know Amex can be pretty finicky.
Has anyone who apped and/or got 2 Amex on the same day been FR'd? Or had any other kind of AA?
Thanks!
I don't think you'll get F/R'ed Bichon, At the most you'd be approved for charge and declined for revolver. Or you might get both!!

And even if the don't give you a huge CL to start, you can always request 3X after 60 days.
+1
Applying for 2 cards in a single day won't lead to an FR, but if you kept doing it and closing cards just for the sign up bonuses, then I'm sure it will.
I would apply for the Zync first, then the BCE. From my dealings with AmEx, they seem to offer on average much higher CLs than other cards. CLs of 10k+ are pretty common with AmEx cards.
I could be wrong, but from what I understand it'll only be one pull IF it's the same type of product and both applications are approved on the same day. I.e. a Zync and Gold, for example. I'm pretty sure people were saying that if you apply for a charge and revolver, you still end up with (at least) 2 HPs. Also, if they're not approved on the same day, they might do another HP when the second application is processed.
Plus if your first application gets denied, then they'll cancel your other applications for 30 days.

Well, that sheds an entirely different light on it, then. Maybe I should forgo the Zync since I don't really care about it, and wait and app for the Costco card. I definitely don't want 2 inq if it's avoidable. Actually, I'd rather have Costco and BCE since their rewards structures are different. So, maybe I should app for one and if approved, app for the second on the same day.
All this planning and trying to predict the CCCs is giving me a headache!
In my experience. I applied for the Zync and the Platinum within 24 hours and only one HP was used. I always thought it would be two if it was a different day.
@bichonmom wrote:Does anyone know if they tend to match your highest CL?
Right now, my highest CL reporting is $2200 w/Barclays. But I just got a CLI with my CU to $2500. It won't show up on my CR until around the 20th of this month, after the stmt cuts. So, I was thinking that it might be better to wait to app w/Amex until after the CLI reports. That way, they'll see 3 CCs w/decent limits: $2k NFCU, $2.5K CU, $2.2K Barclays. Without the CLI, I have 3 low limit CCs: $500 CapONe, $750 CapOne, $500 CU.
Just thinking about what their perspective might be when they're looking at the reports. Also, I have read here that some CCCs are likely to match, but not go over, your highest CL.
If I can give you some hope, I have the BCE and got a full 3X after 61 days. And you will see that a lot of people have been gettign the 3X.
