Amex application question

Hey guys i was wondering how amex looks at an applicant who doesnt rent or own. Im 20 and still live with my parents so i dont fall under any of those categories, so do approval odds drop by not renting or owning?

No, it absolutely doesn't drop your chances of approval. Smiley Happy To me, you have more disposable income because you're not paying rent so I think that's a plus. Smiley Wink When I got my Amex, I was in the same position as you! Are you looking to apply soon?

Yup im looking at the prg, my experian score will be a 745 when they report the recent statement, and i make 33k a year. Im just hesitant at pulling the trigger, ive been informing myself more and more about amex. Hopefully next week i apply!

You should get it. PRG has the same underwriting as the Green.

I went though the process this week. When you fill out the application you will need to select the rent option.

Re: Amex application question

I think that's great! In January for max backdating I highly recommend you apply for a revolver with no-annual fee. I'm sure you'll get approved with responsible usage of your PRG! Happy for you, because things look good. Smiley Happy

I did not do this. I put other and put 0. But, really, it doesn't matter either way. Other and 0 is a better way, because you really are neither renting nor are you owning.

Oh ok thanks, yeah it doesnt give me that option on the ipad but on my computer i think it gives the option to pick "other".

It never ask for your rent (mine was $0 so I'm sorta dissapointed it didn't ask). I was in the live chat when I filled out my applicatiion and this is what they told me to do.
