I have read a few things, but haven't seen anyone confirm if they had any success getting a credit limit to report. My friend added me as an au or her Amex charge and it is just reporting a balance, but no limit. They also added her address to my credit report. Does anyone have any information regarding this?

Is this a charge card or revolver?
It's a charge card

If it is a charge card (amex green, gold, premier rewards gold, platinum, or centurion) card, it does not have a specific limit. It is what is known as a NPSL (no preset spending limit) or flexible spending account. Amex doesn't report credit limits for these types of accounts.

Correct, thanks jsucool for pointing it out in OPs.
Thank you both for explaining to me. I wanted to be added in hopes of giving my score a bit of a bump and hopefully to help me get in the door with Amex. But I saw it was added in my utilization, but without the limit will it hurt my score?

Amex charge card balances are not taken into account with FICO scoring, (they are with some FAKO scores though, but those don't really mean anything) so the balance should not affect your utilization.
