Amex cli???

Hi Everyone,

I have been lurking on the forum for a while, and I finally decided it was time to introduce myself and join the fun.  I have learned and benefitted SO MUCH from you all in recent months.  I consider you guys and gals my personal credit counselors who work on a volunteer basis, of course.  Smiley Happy

Before MF, I only had--
Cap1 - $750
BOA secured - $300

After MF, I now have--
Amex Delta  - $8K (highest ever, still can't believe it)
Wamu - $2K (a little disappointing after AMEX, but hey, you gotta start somewhere, right?)
Hooters - don't know yet (STILL haven't heard back in 2+ weeks)
Cap1 - from $750 to $1250 to $1550 (using "magic" number)
BOA - still at $300 (but plan to increase deposit soon)

Did I mention that my ficos have jumped, on average, 50+ points in the last 3 months?

You Guys Roooock!!!!

Regarding Amex cli, I received my delta on Sat. and immediately requested a product change to Blue, which should arrive in about 30 days (according to csr).  It's been often mentioned that Amex requires a 30-day wait before granting a CLI.  My question is do I request the CLI 30 days after receiving my delta (which presumably will be around the time I receive the blue) or do I wait 30 days after receiving the Blue?  Thanks!!!

(Sorry for being long-winded and sorry if this has been asked and answered before!)

Re: Amex cli???

Well hi lurknomore! Glad you decided to come out of he woodwork, and join in this insanity. LOL

Super congrats on the new cards and verryyyyy nice cl's. Feels good doesn't it to get your credit in good shape? And yes we do rock! As a collective, sharing knowledge and experiences.

I think we all can say the same thing about having our own personal credit councelors. I know I do. Many knowledgeable people here, and this free exchange of experiences, and information is why this works and works so well. This forum should be required reading for people taking economics courses in college OR high school. So many of us do not know the intimate workings of credit, and as such, get in trouble because we've not been educated in the subject.

Re: Amex cli???

I would say wait 30 days after you receive the product change.  The more tenure you have, the more bargaining you have for an increase.  Sometimes after a product change the system won't allow for electronic payments to account, CLIs, or even sometimes rate changes.
