Interesting, I've not heard of them being INQ sensitive.

Try squeeze out some points before actually closing plat though. There are DPs of 30K or even 50K MRsSmiley Happy

American Express always gives me some beyond dumb reason to deny me....

This time it was "our scoring of your credit" 771 EX Fico8 is what they pulled... on bottom of that states the reason as "our analysis of the credit risk associated with customers who, in our estimation spend low dollar amounts for airline travel"

LOL, back to the garden... thanks chase for 59k between 2 cards Smiley Happy!

Re: Amex crap denial

the denial reason is baffling to me, doubt I'd find myself buying more airline tickets to please Amex 😂

Re: Amex crap denial

It appears to me that Amex is fibbing about what they use to consider applications. You see, I don't think they're using FICO or VS or any such thing. Instead, they're doing it the way priests in the great civilizations of antiquity did when they wished to consult the auguries; they slaughter a sheep, open it up and examine the entrails closely to determine whether the omens for your application are good or bad. And they get roast lamb out of it, to boot.

How do they know you don't fly every day? They have no way of knowing whether you fly frequently or not at all unless it was on the app...  then your bad.

Re: Amex crap denial

771 is a great score.. I'm actually not sure how it can be that high with over 50 inquiries still showing. It's interesting that even though FICO scoring gives little weight to inquiries, Amex probably gives it a lot more weight internally. I guess it shows we can't always go off of FICO alone. I'd still recon though, with that income.
