Amex flagged transaction as fraud

So random, I purchased some furniture recently and immediately after the transaction declined I received a fraud alert from AMEX. I responded and told them it was a legitimate purchase. I tried my card again and it went through.

Fast forward a few weeks, I check my statement and "recent transactions" and that furniture purchase is not on it. I'm worried that this purchase will appear on a statement later on down the line and screw up my payment mojo. Anyone have experience with this?

It's an AMEX SPG btw

Re: Amex flagged transaction as fraud

I've never had a transaction decline on my SPG card. However, based on what I know about banking and preventative fraud measures, that transaction should absolutely show up on your statement and online. I would give it a few days to reflect that though. You won't see the declined transaction anywhere though.

Since it's a furniture charge is it one of those places that only actually charge the card once the furniture has been offically sent/delivered? Reason I ask is because some places just put a pre-authorization on the card like when you get gasoline at the pump and only bill you once the goods are on their way.

Yeah, with orders they don't bill you til the item(s) ship out; occasionally with really big orders they will because of the amount but that's an exception to the rule from my understanding. Assuming that's the case that's why you haven't seen the charge yet on your credit card.

Still funny to me that people buy stuff there. I've been working for them for a good while now and still never use the free Club O membership or buy anything at all on the website... Amazon Prime for this chap.
