Re: Amex is so generous

It took me a little over a year to finally get a CLI with AMEX, you just need to be patient...Obviously these things don't happen over night

NFCU CashRewards $13.5k | AMEX BCE $15k | Lowes $17k | Sportsmanss guide $7.6k | Chase Freedom $1k | Discover IT $4.4k |
Walmart $8k | Gordman's $2950

Re: Amex is so generous

With so many people having no issue getting 3X CLI from AMEX (save for those who don't have a great credit profile) and you having very low limits, don't you find yourself being the common denominator in a lenders ability to extend you credit? You are very hostile to people who are just trying to get you to see things from a different perspective. While you think your creditworthiness has improved, it has only been a short while and you are becoming impatient. I too am eager to build my portfolio as quickly as I can but I also don't make rash decisions and flame creditors for viewing me objectively. Just a thought.

Total Credit: $96,000. Total Utilization: 4%

Re: Amex is so generous

Another thought...do you know the last time Amex softed you? Because while things may have changed on your end they will be using their last soft on file to judge you. Low limits/ huge APR's/ and no Cli's gives you an idea of how they characterized you and your credit file when you applied.  Be patient but remember they have very right to judge you based on what they see on your credit report. You may know things have changed on your end but they will ultimately go by what they see on their end to make a decision.

You haven't been patient. It's only been a few months after you opened the card. Your scores are still too low for any increase. I'm sure once your scores improve, CLI will come.

+1 Just because amex denies you does not mean they will always deny you. I was denied a 3x CLI on my amex spg which was only a 2k limit several months ago. Today I took my amex everyday from 5k to 15k. Not much in my report has changed except time and a more established track record of on time payments.
