Due to an unforeseen event my Amex Zync payment is going to be late this month, I will be paying 3/4 of the balance before the due, but the rest will have to be paid after the due date but well before my next statement date, my question is since it will be after the due date when I pay the rest, will it just report as a 30 day late on my CR?? This really sux too because I haven't been late paying on any of my cc's, unfortunately this time it couldn't be helped, I just don't want Amex to close my account or anything like that. I was going to app for a Delta Skymiles card at the end of the year, there went that idea
Don't you have to be thirty days past the due date for a negative report on your CR? Many tradelines have a "grace period" for a few days though some hard-nosed companies use this as an excuse to jack up your interest rates or charge you late fees.
I'm not sure, but if it is 30 days past the due date, then I'll be ok. My due date is Oct 12th, I'll be making a payment for 3/4 of the balance next week, the rest I was going to be able to pay about a week after the 12th. I'm really going to see if there's a way I can pay everything by the due date, just to stay in good graces and not take any chances.
Hello,
The creditor will report to the credit bureau(s) if you are 30 days late. If you pay it within a couple of days after your due date, you are fine. But, it still all depends on the creditor and how they submit their tape/records to the credit bureau(s). All of the creditors have different ways. But in my opinion you are fine.
However, with that being said, they can lower your internal limit maybe, and/or close your account. Let's hope this doesn't happen. Yous should attempt to call them and explain your situation to them, and request that the CSR note your account.

If you are not 30 days past due then the creditor cannot report it as such. Even with that said, you may want to read your paperwork to determine what type of additional fees you may incur with being late on a charge card purchase as normally the full amount is due by the due date.
If at all possible, you may want to try to determine how much the late fee is, this way you can make a more informed decision.
Thanks for the responses everyone, as soon as I get home this evening I'll take a look at my paperwork. I'm defnitely going to try and pay it by the due date though just to not have this headache.
Just to update everyone..I just spoke with an Amex CSR and explained the situation to her, she informed me that as long as my full balance is paid by the 28th which is my statement date, I won't be considered late and my account won't be suspended. That makes me feel better and I can breath easier now knowing I won't have a late payment history with them. Thanks for the suggestion to give them a call

Good always remember you have a charge card try not to charge anything that you know you can't pay when the statement cuts. There telling u everthing is OK but I'm sure this will be kept in there internal system.
