Keeping it simple:
If you don't want to submit the 4506-T to Amex, then don't request any CLI's with them over 25k on a single card.
Amex CL's 25k-100k REQUIRE income verification (4506-T) always.

There are loads of examples on this forum where that simply isn't true.

I have definetly seen situations of people getting 25k+ credit lines without income verification being required. Right now my total across all cards is 34k of credit and I doubt I will be asking for a CLI again, although I may want to consolidate that amount into one card.
CL's above 25k on a SINGLE CARD required income verfication at Amex! Do your homework and ensure you are not reading up on late forum postings!

If you are looking for a finite answer, I don't think you're going to get one. If I have learned nothing else from this forum, I've learned that credit is not a one size fits all scenario. The only way to get an answer to your question is to try it for yourself. Ask yourself: Do you really need more than 25K CL on your Everyday Amex? Good luck!!!

This is a YMMV situation. There are a number of variables that come into play as to whether you will receive an income verification request.

In june I will likely get rid of the SPG card (I may try to obtain the business version when the bonus goes up). At some point I will be closing my BCE card (its in SD now) and moving that line over to the everyday card. I do not want to set off any alarms with amex. How much of a credit line increase should I ask for on my everyday card knowin that I want to move that additional 17k over to it in the future?
Look at it from the perspective of "what do you need" versus "what do you want" in the way of a credit limit increase.
Anecdotally, once you start pushing $25K CL, you're potentially going to trigger AMEX to inquire further about your finances. Yes, there are users, here and elsewhere, who've gone beyond that without an FR, but there are many others who get the FR at $25K. Since you stated you don't want to set off the alarms, it's your decision as to whether going over $25K is the risk you want to take.
Its not really clear to me whether amex will set off alarms for consolidating credit lines into one CL vs a straight CL increase over 25k.
Never was an issue for me on my Platinum Delta Sky Miles Card. Went from 20k to 30k and the only thing I triggered with Amex was an instant approval.
@Anonymous wrote:Why not just keep the BCE since you have such a high limit on it and just go for the $15,000 on the ED provided you haven't had any cli's with AmEx in the last 6 months. And then just close the $2000 limit card.
You don't want to go over $25,000 with them and trigger an FR.
Ye i hear its over 25k CL that triggers a FR. But when i did a 3x CLI from 9500 to 28500 on ED they didnt FR me. And friend went from 11500 to 32k and they didnt FR him either. But i had a good payment history with my amex Gold before and friend also PIF so i guess that could make a difference also...
But i think going over 25-30k on a CLI risks a FR.
