Thanks swampy. I'm just gonna wait it out. 3000 is good enough for now. I really would like a cli from citi though. 1200 isn't cutting it.
You could wait it out. But listen. you did not get a 1k or 2k limit on your Amex. Amex also always uses your oldest Sp report. Since your score went down and you got a 3k limit. now would be the time. it will not matter if you wait 2 months get denied and then have to wait another 3 months. When i got my Delta. i knew amex was not sure about me as i never had an Amex before. got $3500 limit on approval. Then got it raised to 10.5k. with a 661 EX at the time. after time had pasted. i tried for the 6 month cli. no dice. so honestly. i know others said its 50-50. and it is . but get it before they do another Sp and see all the new apps and new accounts. IMO

In This case forget the consensus. Get it while your report is at its best with Amex. they already have it. As irish stated. its 50-50. go with your gut. Either way. im with Cap on this one
Edit without any doubt as well. Do it online.

What should I ask for, will they counter?
Ask for $9K. They will either deny or counter.

Always 3X. which in your case. is exatly 9k. yes if for some reason. they will counter. But you will probably get what you are asking for. As i said. i started at $3500. on my Delta. I was not scared. I asked for 10.500. in 3 seconds approved. My first 10k card.

If they could deny shouldn't I ask for 6000?
If $6K is what they're willing to give they will counter with that.
