Amex question

I applied for an American Express card and opted to have a temporary digital card to use before my actual card arrives. Is the “Member since” date on the digital version correct?

Why does it matter? Merchants don't ask for your member since date when you go to purchase something online, nor does a mobile wallet when you go to put in the information.

Re: Amex question

It matters because it reads 95 instead of 17. It matters because 22 years of credit history versus 0 is a big deal.

AMEX doesn't backdate their cards anymore, it is purely a cosmetic feature now.

Hahaha I wish my Amex cards all showed as being opened in 1992!

I was a little freaked out when they put that date on my cards from when I was an AU on my mom's card two decades ago.  They don't forget anything or anyone.
