I have been trying to get in the door with Amex for at least three years. I app with them once every six months and normally its an instant denial. Last month I was finally able to get all of my utilization down from 65% to <5% (some cards were maxed) and decided to go on a small spree. Funny thing is I app'd and was approved for a CS, CSP, and Citi diamond Preffered while my util was above 50% and two cards were maxed (I jumped the gun before ensuring the balances were reported correctly, lucky mistake). Anyway, I also app'd for a blue cash and was declined instanly, I waited 35 days and re app'd after all balances were reported and received a 14 day message. When i checked the app status site it reads "in progress", I hope this one goes through *fingers crossed*. How many of you have had the in progress massage and ended with an approval? What are my odds?

I did last month when I app'd for the Hilton Honors Amex. Decided to call and was asked a few identity questions and was told I was approved. Give them a call.
I have that message when I apply last sat. If I where uI will call them. They just need my verification. And got approved. Try calling them. :-)
