Amex upgrade from Green to Gold question

Just thinking of upgrading my Green to Gold and here's my question.  If AMEX will use the same credit card number as they say, does that means that nothing change from Credit Bureau since it's the same number?  Is upgrading to Gold creates a new Trade Line? I'm gardening for Chase 5/24 and I don't need a new trade line at this time.  Thanks

Re: Amex upgrade from Green to Gold question

This would be a simple product change, no new tradeline.  It would be transparent to the credit bureau.

Why not app for a Gold and get some more MR?  My understanding is that these are some of the highest Amex offers they have ever given.  I thought they didn't pull if you already had a charge card with them?

Apping for the Gold card would add an account toward 5/24.

Usually they don't pull but it's not a 100% garaunty.

They often don't but several members here can confirm that sometimes they do HP if an existing cardholder applies for an additional card.
