@ilovelisa wrote:My question now is, if I submit the documents, does this mean I have a remote chance of being approved? The reason that I am wondering is that: would they really go through all this trouble if I was just going to be declined?
No idea. Verification is just verification and doesn't really mean anything with regard to approval.
Do you know what made them FR you on the first card?
If you fill it out and everything is verified as you originally stated, then you should be fine. Think of it this way:
They can see your CR, and know that anything stated on there (cards, inqs, etc) is accurate. If you had a 580 and 16 derogs, they wouldn't need to go through this mess as they would decline you outright. If they are asking for address and income verfication, it is to make sure that you are telling the truth as that information can't be verified as accurate on your CR.
Fill it out and your odds are great, assuming it matches what you told them in the first place.
Thinking about it more in depth, i dont think Amex FR's are as "uncommon" as people think.. I feel that most people who receive an FR either arent a member on here so we dont hear about or simply don't say anything even if they are on here.. I don't have an Amex, but i want one! I just dont wanna go through that pain in the butt FR...

Not completely sure but I think it was because of many new accounts and many inquiries. It could also come from the very irregular spend pattern I did with it. I would use it for $500 one month, $0 the next, $2 the next. I just used it in the rotation with all my other cards
So I checked online and they finally approved the card yesterday. I applied for it in the middle of July. I called and they said the limit is $4800.

Doubtful. I do something similar, and have many cards to cycle through.

Congrats. Too many people stress out about FR, and AR. Just play along, and don't lie with income/assets.
