Finally got my own Amex cards [Been AU since last year]
Online my member date was showing as 2015, Cards came with 16.
Chatted in and they are processing the update and will mail me new cards with the updated member since date.
Wasnt really an issue but kinda makes me feel better about my rebuilding journey

It's entirely cosmetic, anyway -- the cards will report to the bureaus as being opened in 2016.
I am not for certain on this as I have never been an AU on someone elses cards, but I believe the member since date of 15 could have been becasue you were an AU on someones account, if you were put on in 2015.
CSR said he saw it as 15 [the AU account] but when my app went through it didnt link till after the approval.
Woke up to this in an email [For both cards] :

+1 It's cosmetic and it's not uncommon for newly approved cards to ship out with an incorrect MSD embossed.
My own cards say "Member Since 2015" yet when I log in I am greeted by "Member Since 1995". The online date was updated to reflect 1995 around a week or so after my approvals.
I missed out on the true backdating by less than three weeks. ![]()
Since nobody sees my cards but me, I've not bothered to have them reissued. I just figure that the replacements I get when these expire or get worn will have the "correct" date... for what it's worth.

Completely cosmetic but i was wondering and the Rep said they would get it updated and send out new cards so i was like ok

I don't understand. They literally backdated account opening dates?
