Hello, all. I like to thank everyone for their help and this fabulous forum. Since joing in May 2014, my fico score went from 573 to now a 629. I have an amex prg card (june 2014). My dad just opened a costco true earnings last month. He has put me on as an additional card holder. They backdated him to 1991. I then in turn added him onto my prg and set up his card and it says member since 91'. Even though I just got this card myself. Will this backdating on my dad's or my amex card help in my aaoa? If so, how long or much of a history do I need to get my own costco te or bce card? I want to get rid of sub prime cards only keep about 3 in rotation. Below are some stats that may help. I just want get my credit score in the 700s in the next 3-6 months. Is this possible?
Info: 29% util
Mortgage 2013 ($112K)
Auto Loan- $13k
Student Loan-$53k
Installment-$3400
Baddies: two 30day late (05/14 &09/11), settled co (2008), paid/released CA tax lie (2010)

His MSD won't affect yours. Yours is set for 2014. In fact, his AU PRG won't be backdated even on his CRs, since he's not the primary cardholder. However, he'll benefit from his own Costco TE being backdated to 1991.
As for your own shot at an AMEX revovler, you'll want to get up to the upper 600s at least. You'll probably see a score boost when the CO falls off, but you could try for GW removal. You may also want to search the "Rebuilding" forum to see how to address the released tax lien. And try to push your UTIL down more...AMEX LOVES low UTIL.

Thanks for your reply. Before I found this site I settled for payment of that charge off. I gw and disputed that thing for Idk how long. It'll fall off in May next year. The tax lien is a California one. I'm disputing it now with literature from the state website stating if it's released. The bureaus should be able to remove from reports. I've disputed this about 3x before. It seems like they always come back verified and not looked into. I keep my util pretty low. Just one cc reported with my tuition charged on it. I keep it around 10%. I tried gw the 30 day late and it still remains. Looks like I'm pretty much stuck and at the mercy of time and aging of accounts
I also have a settled CO due to fall off in May. It's with Cap One, and they're notoriously difficult to get GW removal. But some have reported they have had success at the 6.5 year mark. So I'll try. If that isn't successful, I'll try my hand at early exclusion requests with the CRAs.
With GW, sometimes you have to just try and try again for success. Many will budge eventually (I got LVNV to delete a settled collection), but some don't.

+1. There may be some helpful info there about dealing with the lien still appearing on the CRs

What is an early exclusion?
The CRAs sometimes are able to exclude TLs from your CRs before the falloff date. TU sometime removes info up to 6 months prior to the falloff date. EX & EQ can sometimes do 1-2 months. However, success on this is very mixed...YMMV if you try this. This topic is also in the "Rebuilding" forum

It's not just a matter of how much history but of all the usual factors:

See what you can do about your dergos. Keep your utilization in check and optimize right before applying. The other factors just take time and responsible usage to build.
