Although I haven't found much information about how long new cards take to report, some stuff I've found seems to suggest that some banks such as Barclays and BOA report within a few days of approvals while Chase and Amex take much longer to report. I recently just got approved for the Chase Freedom and was wondering how long it will take for it to impact my AAoA. Has anyone noticed their Chase card(s) reporting before the first statement cuts? How long does Chase typically take to report?
I got approved for my Freedom card on June 14th and activated it on the 17th. It has not yet reported. So that is going on two weeks now.
mine took almost 3 weeks
Yikes, so that's actually faster than I expected. I was hoping that it'd take at least a month.
I have found a pattern that has seemed to hold for my past couple Chase cards. When you see the card in your Chase account after it has been approved (you will need to create an account if it is your first with them) you should see a due date on the account even though you haven't had a statement close. Their statements always close 3 days after that due date. The trick is that with your first statement it will actually close in the due date in your account + 3 days - 1 month.
So for example, the last card I got was opened in May and the first due date was July 8th. My first report date was June 11th and my statements will close on the 11th going forward.
My Freedom was reported after the first statement was cut.
Once statement cuts, you will see it on your report.
So on my Chase account it says "Payment due date 08/13/2015." Does that mean it will report after 8/13/15, or does that mean that it will report after 7/13/15, and 8/13/15 is just the day that I have to pay the 7/13/15 balance by?

My guess is that your first statement will close on July 16th and it will report on that day or soon after depending on which bureau. Based on that due date your statement will close on the 16th each month, which is 3 days after the due date.
How sure are you about that because that is literally the difference between my applying for some cards tomorrow and my applying for those cards next month?
