I applied for the Zync card on sunday and was approved. Today I logged in and it says member since 1999. I had a card back then. My question is how will show on my credit report?
My understanding is that it will show as whatever month you apply and then the original member year. So July of 1999. Somebody please correct me if I'm wrong though.

That is correct. The date opened for your ZYNC card will show July 99 on your credit reports.

AMEX backdated you to the time of you other card. It should report as opened in July (month of app), and the year as 1999. So you just added a 13 yr old card to you credit. Depending on your report, this should give you a nice bump in AAOA (average age of accounts).
Have had my zync for just shy of 2 months, and it has yet to begin reporting on any of my CRs.
Ugg...

I get so jealous of people who backdate their AmEx cards 10+ years haha. I wish I opened an AmEx in high school. Congrats OP!

I'd love 13 yrs backdating..![]()
