I'm usually a lurker on here, and don't comment all that much. I definitely have learned a lot about credit in the past few years, but the most important piece of information that I have ever learned was about NFCU. Thankfully I was able to join last June when my brother was active duty and deployed overseas in Afghanistan.
When I got my account last year I also applied for the CashRewards Visa card, and was shocked to have been approved for a $14,000 CL. At that time my highest CL was only $2,000, so it was a bit surprising. Just logged onto my account yesterday and found that I got a $2,100 CLI on my account, which brings my new CL to $16,100. My UTL on this card at the time was 51% ($7,200/14,000) due to the 0% balance transfer deal, which will be paid off before next February when interest starts accruing. But my overall UTL on all of my cards is 27%.
I also have a $5,000 NavChek that I opened in November, and $1,000 NFCU Platinum MasterCard that I just opened in March. I definitely recommend that if you are eligible to join NFCU you definitely should take advantage of that!!
Congrats on your successes!
