Another balance transfer question.

When you get an offer for a new credit card along with a BT offer - if you apply for it with the BT, can they just give you the card and deny you (all or some of the BT?)

Thanks.

I imagine they can, but I haven't had that to happen to me in my 19+ years of credit applications.  I would receive the card and maybe not the whole BT amount that I applied for, but the CCC would pay some  of the BT I asked for.

For example, two years ago I applied for a card with Bank of America and requested a $3,000 BT be paid to Citibank.  Bank of America approved my card application with a CL of  $1,500, but  they would send   Citibank $1,300 BT only.    Smiley Sad    I called and declined the card.  (Small CL and small BT that wasn't helping me at all.)

Some cards will allow you to move or reallocate some of your credit line that you have on other cards with them.  Citibank used to but now they prefer you consolidate your cards.

Re: Another balance transfer question.

I had Chase do that to me, I tried to BT two CCs totaling about $1,400 and they only approved me for $400 and BT'ed $200 of it and didn't even give me the intro APR. I subsequently got approved for a much better BofA card with an honest intro APR and transferred that $200, along with the remaining $1,200 onto the BofA card.
