Another example of weird reporting.

Okay I have the Best Buy MasterCard. My statement date is the 21st of the month.  The last time this card reported was in June and it reported with a 42.00 balance even though I paid the card off before the statement date. So for the past three months, while thi card had sat at 0 balance, the balance on my reports has been 42.00.  I get a dormant card alert today.  I used the card for about 57.00 last month during the statement period but paid it before the statement date.  It reports a balance of 26.00. Not able to figure this out, I pull the card up online.  The card was at 26.00 on the 31st.  They report ON the statement date but the amount they report is the balance at EOMSmiley Mad

Cancelling. Limit is too low anyway

Even though they report at EOM, that doesn't explain the 3 mos of $42.00 on a $0 bal. Maybe for the 1st mo, but not for the next 2. I don't blame you for canceling.

This is the same type of crap that Cap1 does. The other CB card reports to one bureau one month and the next the next month.

Wow that is weird Brammy

I can see why you would want to cancel that card. The issuer is HSBC?  they canceled my Discover card with them.  Like I care, I never did use that card.  It was subprime.

Re: Another example of weird reporting.

Yep.  The BB MasterCard isnt subprime nor is tht 2% CB card. (can't canel that one though, third highest limit).  Hopefully that Junny limit will stick.  I'm using the 2% for the 0% promo with CB.

What reason did they gve for clsing your discover?

Re: Another example of weird reporting.

The reason was "inactivity of your account".  I really don't care to be honest.

I thought the Discover card by HSBC was subprime.  That is the card I had and they canceled.  I have a best buy card but it's not the MC. Regular store card.

Re: Another example of weird reporting.

I've got both store and Master. Like the store card a lot better, better limit.  The CB has a great interest rate so will hold on t it til they ratejack it.  Don't carry a balance so the point is moot. Immediate Bt to Penfed if that happens. Got the 1% cash back at WaMu which is only 1 k lower.  I can switch my daily purchases to that one.
