Wondering if there are any functional differences between the Chase Amazon Prime card and the Amex Biz Amazon Prime card, besides the facts that one is Visa and one is Amex, one is personal and one is business, and the 90-day 0% interest period on all purchases that comes with Amex because I never really use that. I am thinking of apping for the Chase one to get Amazon credit and also start using that for my 5% rewards in order to free up a revolver slot with my Amex account. Has anyone used both and found any differences between them? Thanks!
I had the Chase Amazon Prime and dropped it after getting the Amex Amazon Prime Business card.
Personally, I'd rather have less accounts on my personal credit report. It does offer 0% financing if needed like the Synchrony Amazon card, although like you I've never used it. Chase has said that was also going to be on their card, but I don't think it was ever implemented.
The Amex has Amex Offers and other strange stuff sometimes like spend $3k get $100. That is kind of offset by the only real difference in the cards, Amazon will have deals for holders of the Chase card every once in a while, although I admit that they were never really that great and I never used any of them. IMO those kind of cancel each other out.
You can get the Amazon Prime Business without any adverse effects to your personal credit report if you already have another Amex card since it will be a SP (no inq) and all on your business credit report so no hit to AAoA or new account.
Main difference is where the account shows up, either business or personal credit report and that is more of a subjective decision.
(Amex is metal and black and pretty cool looking IMO, but not worth much on that front since it stays in a drawer 😁)
