Any ideas on how to dump my Virgin Atlantic MasterCard?

BOA is refusing to let me move the credit line to my Fidelity Amex without another HP (they HP'd me for the Fidelity Amex, why not just use that report!!!). They're refusing to let me change the product to a Better Balance Rewards too. Does anyone know if i should call the EO for better results or talk to a credit analyst directly?...I'd rather not close it Smiley Sad. I didnt do my homework too well before i opened it. I was thinking of 1:2 VA to HHonors, but.... that certainly isnt the case.

Re: Any ideas on how to dump my Virgin Atlantic MasterCard?

I have no advice, but I'll be watching to see if anyone does for you.  BoA has been tight with me, a customer who has been with them for 20 years checking and banking.  They wouldn't give me the $150 bonus that they started offering right after I apped for the Cash card with the $100 bonus.  No, No, No, is what they told me, and they were giving me the offer online everytime I logged onto my online account.  I don't seem them PC'ing anyone to the BBR.  Their CL's with me have been tight and they gave me a Cap 1 APR with my Travel card.  I want to make it work with them, but as it stands now they are so stuffy and stodgy and lame that I'm backburnering them.

At least with Chase I can play with my cards and reallocate and move them around.  I'm afraid I'm going to be stuck with these exact Cap 1 and BoA cards for life or until closure.

Sucks that you might have to take a HP to consolidate the limit of that card, but think about the positives of being able to have a bigger limit on your Fidelity Amex, a card that you seem to be getting a lot more out of. There's a trade off and opportunity cost there.

If it's too much of a hassle for you, I would just SD the card for a while until you feel more confident in consolidating the limit.

Wow, I'm shocked they won't let you PC to BBR. Is it true they aren't doing PCs anymore?

Yup apparently it's not just with the BBR card anymore. I had to close out my Cash Rewards so I could get the Alaska Airlines.

Re: Any ideas on how to dump my Virgin Atlantic MasterCard?

I searched and I see that online people are still downgrading their Cash and Travel cards to the BBR, but they are giving some people an extremely hard time.  One guy had to try 4 times until he got a nice CSR.  I guess it's not impossible, but I don't think they are necessarily encouraging it.

1. as with most banks BofA is no different with PC to Co-Branded cards... can't usually be done.

2. BofA annoying as it is has always been known for HP to move CL's around.

Have you heard about the 80k point offer that Amex has for their Hilton HHonors Surpass card? Maybe that should be your next one if you don't already have it.
