Has anyone had any luck with a Home Depot CLI without a hard pull?
I requested a CLI back in January after we bought a house went from $5k to $20k. It was a HP. Used the card for 12 mod 0% for AC install, windows, and other items for the remodel. Card is at $18,900 (the entire balance is at 0%). I pay way more than the minimum, but I hate that it is pretty much maxed out it's killing my UTL but also don't want to pay it down as it's at 0% AND I don't want a HP. Has anyone had luck with the online request not resulting in a hard pull recently?
In a nutshell. Finances before FICO. You got 0%. Isnt costing you anything. You dont see 20k HD cards around here much as it is. Just pay it down and get more goodies for the new home. Congrats!
Plus I can't remember ever hearing of Citi giving a soft-pull CLI. All of mine have been hard pulls. My $0.02 of course.
There have been sporadic reports of surprise SP CLIs on CBNA retail cards such as Home Depot and Best Buy, but they are not common. I ended up with my Lowe's card after I took about 7 or 8 pulls and could never seem to get my HD card raised up to a usable limit after about 6 years of constant use (yet no issues with Citi core cards at the same time). $20k is definitely on the higher end of what I've seen!
