Any way to get an address to use for my credit cards other than my actual home address?

Long story short: Due to somewhat of a stalker situation I'm trying my best to keep my new home address private. So far the only thing that has my home address is the power company, and I finally feel very relieved since the last address I was only at for 1 year somehow ended up all over the intenert. So I'm being very careful this time around. But I am also rebuilding and it's creating some issues.

I got approved for some new cards but apparently they won't forward to my PO Box. So I was going to get a UPS store address, but I'm reading lenders are now automatically flagging these as business/forwarding addresses and forcing you to update to your actual home address. KYC and all that.

So does anyone have any experience on any other ways to keep your actual home address out of these companies systems and off your credit report? Any virtual address providers that are working and not being flagged?

Thanks

It's unfortunate that you are experiencing a very unique and challenging situation.

Unfortunately, the address you would need to provide has to be compliant with the Patriot Act as far as what lenders need in order to verify your identity. It would have to be a physical address that matches a legal identification document, such as your DL.

Are there any family members or relatives that you can leverage as an alternative, just on a temporary basis?

I have never been able to have my credit card sent anywhere beyond my actual home address without it showing up on my credit report.  One time I did have my address set to be my work and it was sent there, but my work address showed up on my reports after that.

No, lenders must have your verifiable physical address. This can be home or businesses but not PO BOX.

Seeing how you already mentioned KYC, you must be familiar with the requirements.

Using virtual address providers for lending purposes will get your cards shut down and your future apps will be declined because that address is in no way associated with you, therefore not verifiable via any method.

The cards might not, but the Post Office will forward. What I do is go on USPS's website and tell it to forward all mail to my PO Box.

Most new accounts require a physical home address. That's fine. It gets forwarded to the PO Box. But, after an account is established, I update it my PO Box for mailing. Most all allow this, sometimes after a bill cycle.

Important note- you have to update it with USPS every year to forward.

While the credit card companies WILL require your home address for their files, you can have a PO Box as your "mailing address". I have an aunt that lives in a very rural area that doesn't have mail delivery to their actual property and the only way she gets mail is her PO Box at the local post office. She has BoA, Amex and a hand full of other cards that send her mail to the PO Box without issue.
