So I've read a TON of threads about how advantageous it is to apply more than once at Cap 1 for one of their CC's, since they use the pulls from the first application for your other subsequent applications. And I've seen quite a few people get 2 cards from Cap 1 doing this.
What's the success rate for getting 3 cards in one day? Can it be done? I pre qual for the Venture card, the QS rewards, and the Platinum Prestige. I'm going to try for the QS and the Plat Prestige because of their BT's are good. But I'm tempted to try for the Venture as well. I'm pretty confident in getting approved for at least the 2, I have scores in the 740's with nothing negative.
Thoughts anyone?
Thanks.
Do you value BT's over starting credit limits? If not, the Venture and QS should be the cards you focus on first. The Platium doesn't give the greatest starting limits.
Thanks for the reply.
Right now I show 1.5k on my Discover More card with an 11k limit, and 7k on my WF card with a 7k limit. THe more card is a recent BT I did from 3 other cards with limits of only around 3k each. Right now I'm only showing about 9k across my scores due to the transfers being so recent. I timed those really well so they don't currently show up. Those 3 cards with about 3k limits on all of em, show a zero balance. So I show a 9k utilization on total CL of 28k or so. For about a 30% utilization rate. AAoA's is around 7.5 years, with the oldest being 15 years old. And income around 75k.
I was hoping to get a couple of new cards to transfer that other 7k off my WF onto. Plus have some extra cards for potential BT's down the road just to have some leeway when doing BT's. I see lots of people with worse numbers than I have getting approved for a 10k SL on 1st approval from Cap 1. And 3k-10k for the 2nd approval from Cap 1. I thought about going for 2 and if successful, hell why not try for a third.
As far as going with the platinum prestige over the venture, I was going that route because it appears to me at least, that the plat prestige has a better BT offer than the venture card does? Plat prestige offers a BT good til 8/16 where as it doesn't look like the venture offers any at all?
I just found out today you can have more than one Quicksilver 1 cards with Capital One. I had a quicksilver1 and a Platinum card. Today on a whim I called them and asked if there was anyone to upgrade the Plat card to a point earning card because I found myself using the quicksilver over that one. She checked and said yep can upgrade that to a quicksilver 1 as well. The cool thing is I can combine points from both cards to get my reward.
Both of my accounts were opened same day, same with my dad, ex wife, and several friends. My neighbor claims to have gotten 3 in a day, but I havn't personally seen it.
Don't exclude V1, it has a BT offer and will likely gain you a higher SL than Prestige. The fact it may not have appeared with the prequal means nothing AND 2 cards seems to be within a 60 day limit.
DO NOT trust in the advice of the CSRs, speak to 6, get a half dozen different answers.
I had a Prestige with a $2-3K CL, no CLIs in the first 3 months and closed it, 8-9 weeks later applied for another QS, got a $5K SL
