Anybody with Capital One Quicksilver One?

I was approved for the Capital One Quicksilver One card. I am so excited. I was also approved the same day for Capital One Platinum Mastercard.

I am curious how long it takes for pending transactions to get finalized? I was hoping to make payments almost immediatley after I spent it. My plan is to leave about 9% utilization at the end of the month, but to spend like crazy on it (mainly with bills that I would normally pay with my checking) to show my high usage of the cards.

It's been about 4 days now...and the transactions have not completed -- though they were charged on friday.

Any thoughts / suggestions?

What is the best way to demonstrate good card use to Capital one to get a higher CLI?

Thanks so much! I love this forum!

I love your enthusiasm to want to do your best with your new card! Some transactions do take a few days to post. Airline tickets, taxi ride, restaurants definitely take a little while to post to your account. Use your card within the limit available for your needs and then push your payment through 2-3 times a billing cycle. You don’t need to push payments constantly. But mind your due date and know that if my cap1 card is due on the 28th, it usually closes on the 3rd of the next month. Don’t let your card report a large balance even though you are paying it in full always.

Re: Anybody with Capital One Quicksilver One?

this is hilarious. My 6 month for CLI is feb 6th. So I charged 1400$ on friday night and stuffs being delivered tomorrow. They are still pending charges on Cap 1 and i can not pay more than my balance ($4.79) + 10% which is a max of 0$ lol.

hope it clears tomorrow for a payment

Re: Anybody with Capital One Quicksilver One?

Purchases on Fridays take longer to post because of the weekend. It also depends on when merchants close their batch. Its best not to make large purchases right before your statement closes if you dont want to risk a high balance reporting. Good luck with your Cap One cards! They have always been good to me!

I just got my QS1 but I have had cap1 for a long time, they have been really good about getting charges posted vs Merrick bank who might not show a charge for over a week.

Do not rely solely on usage.  For any creditor primary factors will be your credit profile and income.  It is not just the account itself that is considered.
