Anyone EVER have success calling a creditor and having them hit the love button instantly?

Always talked about on here and just curious if it has ever worked for anyone - when you have called orchard bank or capital one, have you ever recieved a CLI instantly?  i've tried this a few times with no luck. just wondering if anyone has actually had success this way.  even with them doing the soft pull

I don't know about orchard or capital one specifically (and I would guess the answer would be no with both of those companies), but there are threads here speaking to successful CLIs upon activation.  I'd try a search for CLI and activation.  Here's one example: http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Cards/Barclay-s-CLI-at-Activation/m-p/784501/highlight/true#M...

Cap1 has given me CLI's without me ever asking for them.

Traded my Capital One No Hassle for the Venture Card, When I called to activate it, I went through the main menu and selected "other options"and selected change in limit . I figured it would be a waste of time because this board claims that Cap 1 does not do Customer initiated requests. I was transferred to an agent I was told if the system lets them do one it would say yes or no. To my surprise it said yes. He asked how much did I want, I asked what's the Max I can have , he said it doesn't say, so I said try 2k. He came back and told me that the system would only allow 1k, no pulling of report, so I took it.Smiley Very Happy New line is 12.6K which is good for Cap 1

wow.  that's awesome.  what do you mean by "trade" though?  did you close the no hassle and cancel it or did you call to 'switch' accounts?

Yep, I was in Vegas (don't ask) and NFCU raised me a modest 1K to 11K on request. They did ask if I had any additional income to report and I had to respond no. This was at least 3 years ago though.

What happen was they kept sending me pre approvals for the Venture Card, I never responded because I did not want 3 hits on my report, so by way of email, they offered me an upgrade. I kept the same account # and they sent me the World card and now my reports reflect the account as a "Flex spending" card and the limit shows. The original account has been opened since 2001

I got a Citibank Platinum Select in Jan of 2009 with an initial limit of 7,500.  They wouldn't entertain a CLI before one year.  In Oct of 2010, I called and asked for an increase to 30,000 and they gave it to me.  They did a hard pull of course.
