I originally had the Barclay Apple a few years ago which PC to Rewards and now since the new Ipad Pro ($1,200+) is near released I asked them if I could have a 18 month deferment. They said they would reply within a few days.

Just to throw it out there, it’s definitely never a good idea to purchase a non life essential item if you don’t have the funds available to pay it off during grace period.
While that may be your personal modus operandi not everyone adheres to that. Since the OP does have credit accounts it's safe to say that he/she is at least 18 years of age and therfore an adult. It's neither yours, mine or anyone else's place to advise them on how to handle their bussiness, financially or otherwise. Unless speciffically asked of course.
A computer is an essencial item these days in both college and when applying for jobs.
I get that for a $1,200 purchase you want to get rewards but if you looking for 0% finacing why wouldn't you use your Amazon store card to buy the iPad. You would get atleast 12 months maybe 24 if it qualifies interest free. Its my personal preference but I hate Apple with a fiery passion, athough I respect others choices. So I urge my friends and family to buy Apple products from other retailers than Apple, so if something goes wrong you won't get screwed over by Apple.
