No letter here yet. I think there is zero chance anybody who does get switched will see a HP. A new HP would require express consent and failing to opt-out of an upgrade would not constitute express consent not to mention the fact that Synchrony would see all the info it needs with a SP.

I didn't get a mailer but as a relatively new cardholder of the Sams Store card, I just called customer service and you are correct. Sams is switching all personal and business 'store cards' to a Mastercard; however, the agent mentioned that customers will have the ability to 'opt' out if they choose. The notification via mail will be sent Sept 28 and if you opt in for the Mastercard those cards will be mailed in October.
