I don't really see much about CITI convenience checks here. Usually it is Barclays and Cap1 that sends them out from what I have seen. I got an offer in the mail today with convenience checks in which they offer 0% APR until 12/1/2016. 13.99% after that. However, there is a 5% BT transfer fee, which kinda sucks. Anyone else get these from CITI?

Yes, got all of them. Put them in the drawer. Not using them.

Do they send anything like this but with less of a BT fee? 5% is a killer. It's like a cash advance but with 0% APR for a while..

I had a few cards with no fee but never used them since the others were 0% interest for at leat 16 months. If the new card has 0% for a certain period of time and you had a decent amount to transfer, it might be worth it. Otherwise, I would just SD them.

I have a Diamond Preferred card and I get these all the time in the mail. Terms and conditions vary with each offer, it seems. They go right in to the shredder.
It seems the people who continuously shred the BTs are the ones who get them all the time. I use my checks from each bank when they are sent, but they're sent periodically...like every 6(or more) months. Whereas, others report getting them weekly/monthly...."all the time". While I am given 12+ months to carry a balance. My BTs are usually paid off in 6months...sometimes less if it's for 3,000 or so.
Makes you wonder if CCCs really like you taking advantage of BT offers? They don't give high starter limits on BT cards. They don't leave 24/7 BT offers on your account(except Discover). They don't keep sending offers to the ones who are "sure bets".
I had BT offers on Citi TY Pref, DP and Chase Amazon the past few years around this time, IIRC. I had sort of planned on that happening this year again. Luckily, I had back up plans as those have not materialized on any (I PC'd the DP to a DC though). No idea how they figure who to send them to.
5%! Yikes!!
I haven't gotten any from CITI yet. Usually monthly from NASA and some some Cap1.
