For instant approvals and underwriting?
Yeah, to get my own cards.
I may soon know more about this... I have an Authorized User on my Arrival Plus who uses it regularly - his credit is in the "recovering" stage. Last app spree I was able to get him a Cap1 card. No pre-approvals on any sites at the time and all other apps were auto-denied.
It's been 3-4 months, and just did mini-spree for him last night. This time, there were pre-approvals for Barclay Arrival (not the Arrival Plus), as well as for a few other banks. Did not get any auto approvals on any apps, but did get "pending" on Barclays, "pending" on Chase Freedom, and "pending" on Amex EveryDay. So I'd say we are making progress.
Anyway, I'm going to have him call Barclays backdoor tomorrow, and as part of the strategy, see if the regular useage of his AU card plays any role whatsoever in the decision-making. Stay tuned...
Just a friendly bump...
Although they could not use AU info officially, during the reconsideration they said, "well, the AU card is heavily used..." and approved him for $1000, doubling his credit limit!
I am an authorized user on my hubby's Barclay's card - reports to Equifax and TransUnion, but not Experian.
I also have my own Barclay's card and my daughter is an authorized user. Same - on Equifax and TransUnion, but not Experian.
Hubby's card history and limit/balance included in my AAoA, utilization, etc.
Question: If my score is 599 do I have a chance of being added as an Authorized User on my husbands card?
Do they take score into consideration for AU?
