Anyone switch up their daily driver recently?

Have you changed which card you use the most? Or is it a revolving door? I think most people have that daily driver card, the one they use more frequently than others. Or maybe you are now using a card a lot that you didn't think you'd ever use so much?

I got my JetBlue card in August, and it's pretty much been my main card since then. It has no FTF (and has chip + PIN) and the earning rates are really good for an airline card. But the past few months I've been using my Hilton card for pretty much everything. Even though I travel a lot I rarely stay in hotels, but I also find the earning rates on the card to be pretty good all things considered and I would definitely use the free nights in the future. My only gripe is that it does have a FTF, so I don't use it internationally. So for now I've made it my go to card so I can build up my points balance.

What about you? As of now Discover is my only cash back card, but I'll switch my restaurant spend to that for Q3.

Re: Anyone switch up their daily driver recently?

Been varying mine up based on earnings and signup bonuses.

Started with QS but now that I got the $100 bonus, it's gone in the SD.  Maybe I'll convert it to a dining rewards later.

Amex BCE I'm using on all my restaurant spend thanks to the 10% signup bonus there.  Once that is done, it'll just be used on 3% groceries.

Chase Freedom is my 5% groceries card now.  Hoping for restaurants next quarter to replace the Amex.

CFU is getting most of everything else for now until I hit the bonus (almost there).  Then it'll be...

Citi DC for everything else

That makes sense. There's always a short term goal too meet where it makes sense to switch the spend to those cards.

I was using Cap1 Quicksilver as main and then Amazon Chase. Now its AMEX BCE mostly. I still use the Quicksilver and Amazon cards just not as much as before.

I switched my non-category card from Citi DC to Fidelity Visa for no very good reason.  (Higher threshold, simple 2% structure)  But just wanted to put it all on one card.

Re: Anyone switch up their daily driver recently?

I use most of my cards throughout each month, but recently changed my "every day misc." card from my BOA Cash Rewards to the Freedom Unlimited. Here is how I use my cards:

Gas: 3.75% - BOA Cash Rewards (25% bonus as gold client)

Dining: 4.5% - Chase Reserve (1.5X point booster)

Hotels: 4.5% - Chase Reserve (sometimes 5% if booked through AMEX site)

Airfare: 5% - Amex Plat (4.5% if booked through 3rd parties on my CSR)

Rental Cars: 4.5% - Chase Reserve

General Travel: 4.5% Chase Reserve

Cell Phone: 5% - US Bank Cash+ #1

Fast Food: 5% - US Bank Cash+ #1

Department Stores 5% - US Bank Cash+ #2

Clothing Stores: 5% - US Bank Cash+ #2

Groceries: 6% - Amex BCP

Gift Certs: 6% Amex BCP

Wholesale Clubs: 2.5% BOA Cash Rewards (25% bonus as gold client)

All Else: 2.25% - Chase Freedom Unlimited (1.5X booster when transferred to CSR UR)

Quarterly Spending Categories: 7.5% - Chase Freedom (1.5X booster when transferred to CSR UR)

Online Shopping: Chase Shopping Portal - I've gotten deals up to 10X points while doing online shopping through the Chase portal. It's great!

Edited to add that I haven't received my Cash+ #2 yet, but that is how I will be applying my spending to that card once I recieve it.

Re: Anyone switch up their daily driver recently?

I've got essentially three 2% cards at the moment... Discover (still in the first year), Blispay and Citi DC.  I was using Discover as my daily driver over the other 2 simply because I was trying to stimulate a CLI through them.  After 100+ days without a CLI though, I've given them "tough love" and moved most of my general spend to the DC.

I recently scooped up the CSP though, so in order to hit the $4k spend in 3 months I've moved a good chunk of my general spend over to that card.  Sure I'll get 1% less back, but that will constitute all of $10-$20 in rewards in order to get that $500 bonus which I can live with.  Once I hit the bonus, I'll probably go back to the DC as my first year with Discover will be up.
