whos'e leaving the garden to app for a backdated amex? (or I guess potentially leaving the garden?) 

I think I am. 

It would be a good start date for the garden(easy to remember as well)

I definitely am applying for my second Amex, right on Jan 1st! Then if denied hopefully I can apply again on the 31st. But I'd rather get accepted from the beginning

obviously but my util jumped too 20 percent (should have it down too 16 reporting on the 1st)

True Earnings shouldn't be too hard to qualify for. I hope that's true for you at least!

If everything goes according to plan I should be at exactly 1% overall by the time I apply

If i wasn't saving my inquiries for an auto loan in the next 60 days I'd app for the green card just for the hell of it.  My EX should be 675+
