i would have kept my ge discover (7k) had the interest rate been a more favorable one, and also an interest rate that would decrease over time.

having a purchase apr of 23 percent is a bit outrageous. the only double standard i have however is a capital one card.

That high APR is pretty much the standard APR for store credit cards though.
i was recently denied walmart card for not enough credit history and too many accounts opened in the past 6 mos. i have 3 open cc's. i dont think you can choose whether you want the store card or discover the system chooses for you i believe
Correct, the system will first consider you for the Walmart Discover, then the regular Walmart card. You can't choose which one you want.
