According to "Ask Sebby" ,the chase double dip doesn't work anymore.... Here's a link to the video explaining it <Mod note: Sorry, that link isn't allowed here. --UB>
TLDR: You will get hit with 2 inquires if you apply for 2 chase cards the same day....
SPG will also be a hard pull unless your already a AMEX member and being a AMEX member won't stop them from pulling your credit again for the Marriott.... That's two different issuers... Even if it's the same loyalty program....

Heck I got hit with 2 INQ's applying for one Chase card. They pulled TU & EX for my FU in Jan this year!
Unless you already have a personal Amex card, a denial for an Amex should still result in a HP. Even then, YMMV. Even with your current stats, unless you've had a previous bad relationship with American Express, it doesn't seem like a denial would be likely.
If URs are what you want, I'd certainly agree that the CSR is a great match for your spending. Alternately, the Citi ThankYou Premier also fits quite well as travel is even more loosely defined and if you're spending that much on tolls (which is a LOT; that's like taking the Holland or Lincoln tunnel every single day from NJ!) I assume you have a lot of fuel spend, which is not a 3x category for CSR but is for TYP.
If you're looking to open several Chase accounts in a short period of time, I'd reconsider whether the SPG may be a better choice for you as Chase may not extend enough total credit lines to make 3 or more cards viable.
Also, I'm pretty sure I've recently seen DPs here on myFICO about double-dip apping on the same day with Chase without duplicate HPs. Many of us usually get two HPs for a single Chase app, but that should still prevent a person from receiving two HPs on each bureau pulled. As with anything in the credit world, YMMV. AskSebby has a very bad track record with giving incorrect information, particularly when it comes to Chase (examples: AUs are not eligible for bonuses when opening primary accounts, hotel cards not being eligible for PCs, etc.), so I would never suggest relying on information he has given.

Tomorrow is my last statement close and my UT % will be down to 5% overall once everything updates. My current Experian score is 722 with a 14% util so it should go up. Plus I had two HP fall off leaving me with 3 total with 1 of them falling off in November. Still have $163k in SL debt lol but still a solid profile with 1 negative from 4 years ago.
I want to get two cards with one of them for hotels. I was thinking the Chase Mariott Card and one of the Freesoms. I was originally going to get the SPG card because if I get denied it won’t be a HP. I believe they are the same exact card anyway.
I want to get a relationship with chase and get the CSR in January. My job is letting me expense my business purchases which I easily spend $5k a month in travel and dining. 4K of that is EZ pass alone during summer months. I also pay for two company dinners a year totaling in $3k per meal so I’m going to go with CSR on this one.
I figured I apply for the Mariott and one of the freedoms the same day to only net 1 hard pull if in fact the chase Mariott is the same as SPG. Plus I think it’ll help build a relationship with chase which is my end game. I have 0/24 with credit card accounts but I’ve heard chase cancels cards during app sprees.
If your goal is to get the CSR in January, I think the smarter route would be to get both Freedom cards and pass on the hotel card for now unless you will be staying at SPG/Marriott hotels excessively in the next 3 months. The Freedom cards and the CSR synergize. For the next few months you can rack up UR points and then give them a hefty boost in value once the CSR is added to your wallet. The SPG/Marriott hotel card uses a different rewards program and has basically no use as a point earning card when the CSR is in your posession.
