I fly SW a lot; however, I would most likely switch this card to a regular Sapphire and let it sit when it's second annual fee comes due next year. I would then move most of the SW limit to my CSP which I use for much more than my $5k limit. Plus, the CSP and SW card get 2x points on SW flights regardless, so the point value is the same.
My question is: what do you think my odds are of getting approved for this card as I have just recently apped for the CSP, BCP, and Hyatt in the past 2 months. One thing to note is that I made all of my Chase statements cut on the 1st of the month, so the Hyatt or CSP have not reported to my credit report yet. I called Chase and they said that the two cards will not report to my credit report until August 1st. Would it be more beneficial to just ask for CLI on my CSP for the hard pull?
I currently have 10 inquiries on my CR--7 will fall off in September/December. I do not want to app for another card for two years after this because I plan on getting a mortgage/graduating law school. Fico score reported at 724 on my final app with the BCP.
This would ultimately depend on your income, credit standing/newly opened accounts/inquiries and whether you may have reached any internal limit/ceiling with them - which may point at the moment based on the information you have shared. If you have recently been approved for CSP and Hyatt, there may be a strong possibility (if not immediately approved) that convincing an analyst to approve you for a fourth Chase CC product (with 2 recently opened) in such a short time frame. Whether or not it has reported to the CRAs, their internal records will see the other 2 newly opened accounts.
Another item to keep in mind, you cannot PC a co-branded product (e.g. SW) to another non-cobranded one. They would need to be in the same product family for a PC (Freedom, CSP/CS and Slate are within the same family, albeit the CS/CSP would be exception approval or PC from the other 2).
As anyone's outcome will vary, best of luck either way!
Thanks for this information; I did not know this, and it is extremely helpful. Does this mean that it would be transferable between another co-branded card? Or just between the different SW cards Chase offers?
Just between their tiered products -- so Chase SW RR Plus to SW RR Premier and viceversa. Same applies to their other products like United, Marriot, Disney, etc.
An alternate method for PC would be say for instance if you have a $5K Amazon Visa Signature (but don't use very often), you apply for the SW RR Premier and is declined. In the event that you pursue the reconsideration route and the analyst cites that you have reached the maximum credit they can offer but can conditionally approve you for the $5K SW RR Premier if you close your Amazon Signature, then that's an option (a product swap if you would). The pros are you get the card in a similar version and CL, the cons would be that your AAoA takes a hit in addition to the HP. Just some options to consider.

I was ultimately hoping to change it to a non-annual fee card so it can just sit and I can use randomly. However, I guess going from a $99 to $69 for the Premier/Plus would be an okay situation. I would have to look into other co-branded cards, but you're right, that would be another hard pull.
So many decisions! But I'd rather have that compared to none!
Someone in another forum gave me a great idea, which I may do. I could app, and I would probably ge the 5-10 day notice. Due to the fact that I pay down my balance every couple days, I could easily stand to pull credit from my Hyatt and Freedom if need be. I could also plead and they would see that I easily spend ~10k/month on the CSP. Worst comes to worst I would pull $2.5k from each Hyatt and Freedom to use for that card if Chase would allow it.
Then I would retrieve the sign-up bonus, change it to a plus in a year, and let it sit and benefit my AAOA.
With those Chase cards and hopefully a 3x CLI on my Amex, I will be sitting great for 2 years.
That seems like the best plan no?

That sounds like a great plan! I know Chase is really good at allocating credit lines. Hopefully they don't have a strict card limit besides their internal limit. Whenever you decide to app keep us updated!
