App spree advice needed ASAP!

Hello fellow forum folks! I am looking at applying for 1-3 cards tonight and I am needing your advice as to which cards I should go for, when I should apply for them and if my plan makes sense at all...  Let me give you a small background on my credit history.  According to myfico, EX-741 EQ-741 TU-765. Oldest account-10.5 years, AAoA-7.3 years, Income-60K, 16% Util, 1 negative account 3.8 years ago, 1 hard inq.  As far as loans go, I have one car loan out with about 9k remaining and I have about 30k remaining in school loans.  In my wallet I have...

Chase Freedom (2008) 1.5K

Quicksilver One (2010) 2.25K

Quickilver (2010) 1.65K

AMEX Zync (2011) NPSL

Citi Thank You Preferred (2012) 6.1K

So the cards I am thinking are an AMEX revolver which I need suggestions on which one.  I would think the Blue sky since I have 2 cashback cards already but the BCE is a really nice card.  I really want the Chase Marriott Premier card.  I think that black metal card looks ridiculously cool and Marriott's are my hotel of choice so I feel it is a great fit.  Tons of people have raved about the Barclays World Arrival card.  Don't really have a huge want for this card but I figure why not go for the trifecta and plus i do not have a "miles" card!  I plan on gardening till at least 2015 anyhow.  The other reason I feel these 3 cards might be a good fit for me application wise is because all 3 cards when I apply will be 3 different HP's but hopefully with 3 different CB's.  I think Amex pulls EX, Chase pulls EQ and Barclays pulls TU.

If I decide to go this route, should I apply for all 3 cards in one night? Or, should I apply for the AMEX revolver first then wait 61 days for the 3X CLI and then I apply for Chase Marriott Premier a few months later then the Arrival card a few months after that?  I am really confused on what is the best course of action to take here.  I want to shoot for the route that will give me the highest CL possible on these new cards.

Most importantly, I am doing this because I am getting into my late 20's and I do not want anymore "TOY LIMIT CARDS."  I really want to shoot for 50K in credit.  That is my goal.  It is probably unobtainable but we all need goals.  Please let me know how I should go about my app spree and if you have any other card suggestions please let me know!

What is the negative account?  Chase may pull EX.  I would just apply for all three at once personally.

It sounds like you want an Amex just for the sake of having another Amex.  I would focus on getting the cards you really want first, before going for the ones you think you want. Smiley Tongue

Re: App spree advice needed ASAP!

amex and chase pull EX for me.  And chase double pull ex and eq when i app last time.

I would get discover it.  I like that card.  also saphire card.

see which cards you want the most and then app that first.  I do not know how they would view your negative.

If the first one does is decline then maybe you need a different game plan.

50k limit is not that hard to get if you have a good score and profile.  I believe you could get it if you didn't have the neg.

Re: App spree advice needed ASAP!

Also you could CLI the citi card since it might be just a SP.

If you are just doing 3 and those 3, yes apply all at once!

Re: App spree advice needed ASAP!

have you tried the credit line increase button lately on both capital one cards?

That is a sp and you should do it for both accounts to see if you get anything.

also check your citi card to see if you have the message "check to see if your account is eligible for credit line increase WITHOUT a credit pull" wording is not exactly like that but will say no credit pull will be done" DO IT if you have that message!

Re: App spree advice needed ASAP!

I should have added that I did do a sp cl on both the citi and cap 1 already. Any other ideas to get higher cl cards?

Re: App spree advice needed ASAP!

So do I open 3 browsers up all at the same time? And hit apply all at the same time?

it's not that big of a deal, just apply and move on to the next no matter what each one says.

more cl with capital one.... google "Capital One CEO E-Mail" and send off email asking for a credit line increase on both accounts to $10k, leave your phone number... they will probably call you tomorrow to go over your email and ask you income and if you will take less than the $10k requesting (yes) and they wills end off for manual review (still sp) and get back with you in a couple days!
