Apping AmEx After BK7

Hi MyFico Fam. Getting excited because in about 6 months I can app for my very own AmEx card. My question is regarding the date to app compared to filing bankruptcy date. I know it is 5 years and 1 month from BK7 filing. However, do we use the month we file as a guideline or the month and date? For example if I filed April 19, can I app May 1 or do I need to wait until May 19th or 20th? I hope my question makes sense.

I believe it's 5 years +1 month from discharge date i would wait a month after your 5th year from discharge date to be on the safe side.

I believe it's 5 years +1 month from discharge date i would wait a month after your 5th year from discharge date to be on the safe side.

It is 5 yrs and 1 month post file date, not DC date. So, If you filed April 19, you can app May 1.

Thanks Pizza!!!! I had read that it was filing date. Thanks for confirming. And I like that it's the 1st and not the 19th!!!

Oh AJC! You have no idea! I've been doing this countdown since I found MyFico in 2016. I'm hoping it's ALL Possible!! Amex SPG (preferably Luxury), here I come!
