I am arguing with Equifax over a old entry which I say should have already dropped and they say still has two more months remaining. Grrrr. its my last baddie on ANY report at any bureau. Said Baddie is over 7 years old.
My question though is this:
1. I am now as I start this thread, **bleep** paying down all my balances so that they total a whopping 5% across all cards. (not 5% per card)
2. I want to app for serious cards ala Amex revolver, DIscover It and Chase Freedom.
3. Whats your guy's take on apping with a freeze on one bureau? (Equifax)
EDIT: I am thinking of freezing Equifax to keep the one baddie away from anyone for the next couple months.
My current scores :
TU 755
EX 736
EQuifax 685
My total util will be below 5% once the last card reports.
Inquiries picture is TU 1 EX 2 Equ 2
Thoughts?
I am an AU on an amex green, a Discover, a Capone platinum
I my own Cap one and Credit one cards.
My highest limit card is Discover at 1K but I am just an AU on that one.
Thanks AyalaZero
It might just be me being impatient but after cleaning up my credit for the past 8 years, managing all my accounts carefully to insure not lates ever and now getting total util down to under 5%, I really want to try my hand at getting some decent cards with decent limits.
All the pieces are falling into place and I would really like to make a go of it now rather than later if I can.
So is the key to freeze the CA that reports the lowest credit score? What if the company only pulls from that one?

Thats sorta my question. On the surface it seems like the card company would just say "unfreeze your report for us or we can't give you a card" but then I hear stories of people using freezes to stop a card company from pulling a specific bureau and it works...the card company just pulls from a different bureau.
Anyone else have information to provide on this one?
Thanks
Cool thanks!
If a CC needs the use of the frozen bureau they will call to ask you to unfreeze it.
Thanks dodgeball. This is what I am seeing from other threads on the subject As well.

Hardly anyone pulls equifax so it's kind of silly to worry so much about it. It's mainly barclays USAA and a couple others that pull eq. I think you can get by without the freeze but that's just my opinion.
Barclays usually pulls TU. Discover just pulled EQ for me and the DW. Many CUs also pull EQ.
