How do credit card companies treat person to person payments via apple pay? If I send my buddy $200 for a hotel split via apple pay using my credit card, do I earn points? Does it count as a "cash withdrawl" or some other form of penalty charge?
Anyone with experience on this?
No experience but I'd like to know the answer to this one too. I've only sent from debit card.

while you could do that, you'd have to pay a fee, which I think it's 3% of the transaction. Unless you use a card that makes up for the loss of 3%, then it wouldn't be advisable.
Great question as i've been wondering this (specifically for Apple Pay) as well. I have used a credit card for peer to peer transfer using the Cash app incurred a 3% fee. Thankfully, the amount was small but that could quickly add up. As a sidenote, when I processed using the Cash app, it showed on my Discover card statement as "Misc. Personal Services".

Good to know how the transaction processed. I knew there was a 3% fee because it tells you right before sending money, but now, I also know that I can use the PayPal Business Debit and pay no fee. I'm going to transfer a small amount for testing because I get 1% back from the debit card for pinless transactions, and another 2% from the SYNCB PP MC because it's my funding source for debit purchases. So in theory, that's 3% back for peer-to-peer transactions if it works. This could be a big deal.
