My BF applied for an AppleCard and was approved for a card with a $6,500 limit. Has anyone turned down their offer and later received a better starting CL?
Also, for those that accepted their offer, what has their experience been growing their credit line?
I do not have an Apple card but I have clicked through the process a few times. First time was about a year ago and they offered a $20,000 SL and I declined taking the offer. I check about every few months and recently the offer changed to $40,000 I do not see the card being beneficial to me so I have not accepted it, but curiosity will keep me checking it LOL
I believe I read somewhere that the initial offer stands for a few months before they will change it, but I am not sure if this is true.
Good luck with getting your desired SL. I really like that you can see the offer and choose to accept or decline. Wish all cards worked this way!
I can't speak to getting a better offer after turning one down, I have to imagine it is all algorithmically driven. I have gotten a couple of CLI's on the card so far, and I never use it. If you put decent spend on it and pay it responsibly, increases should be relatively easy.
I haven't declined their offer, but I do have experience requesting a CLI increase. First request was declined, but shortly after I received an email stating I received an auto CLI (about 1k). Second request was approved for another 2k. I'm usually hit or miss with CLIs as I had expenses come up with my relocation around the time i placed the request (utilization was higher than normal).
I got 4.5k CL in Mar 2022 and I'm good with that line as it's only really good if you want to buy and finance an Apple product. I'm not going to Mickey around with Apple Pay each time and hope it works and remove my other cards so they don't read the wrong card besides my PenFed Cash Card gives me 2% and I don't have to deal with it.
I checked offer in June 15 then got CL4500 with 22.74%APR
AND I try to apply today then got CL6500 with 21.24%APR.
My credit socre with EQ increased about 10 from 706 to 716
When I first applied, they gave me $2500 SL, then once I accepted, they immediately increased it to $4000. For Apple,I think it's as simple as the last activities in the last 3 months. No INQ, NO new accounts in the last 3 months. And of course, you need to have a good score that meet their creditworthiness criteria and income to get a higher SL.

I thnk there a few stories of folks turning down Offer 1 and coming back to get a higher SL on
Offer > 1. Of course, I am assuming these posters' profiles got stronger in the interim.
I applied when the card was first available to the public. Here is my history:
Aug 2019 $6500 @17.99%
Dec 2019 $7500
Apr 2020 $10000
Aug 2020 $13000 @ 15.50%
Sep 2021 $14000
Jun 2022 Same but @ 11.74%
