Applied for Slate - 7-10 days, logged into account approved - can I negotiate?

Hello,

I have over the course of 9 months repaired my credit and jumped from 640 to around 745 now (Paid down every last cent in debit over 56k) .

I used to have a chase card with 8.5k, which I closed after they hit my account with over 19% interest (used to be around 11.99%)

So I have decided to give chase a try again for their slate card, they gave me the 7-10 notice, however when I logged into my account, I saw a slate card on the account with a 5k line, have not gotten an approval notice as of yet. (When I applied, I have entered my login info)

What is the best way for me to contact them and have them match my old limit of 8.5k, since this card has a 16 mo 0% down offer. All my other cards have 0 balances except my Amex Plat which regularly carries a 1k balance from month to month.

My score got a hit of around 8 points from the chase enquiry.

Thank you!

You could use the back door number listed in thread above, but I would be careful asking for increases before you even get the card, another underwriter might feel you don't deserve the 5k and take it away.

5k is still a prime limit. I would be thankful and let it grow. Congrats

Chase is weird when it comes to CLs.  I have 4 CCs with them and none of them have had CLI's on them and the oldest is almost 3 years old.  I use them regularly BUT I do not charge even close to the CL.  They do require a hard pull for increases too.  I'd bark up another tree...
