Apply for PRG?

So I recently applied and was approved for both the AMEX ED and Blue Cash ED. Recieved a $8,000 SL for the ED card on 9/4 and a $2,000 SL on Blue cash card 9/8. I am really happy with AMEX but I also wanted to start building a relationship with Chase so I applied and was approved for both Chase Freedom (10/1) and Freedom Unlimited(10/1). I want to apply for the PRG card for the 50,000 sign up bonus and waived AF for first year. I was wondering will chase close my accounts if they see I was approved for multiple AMEX cards?

Re: Apply for PRG?

If you app for the PRG and are approved, that would be 5 new accounts in the last month. 😳 I’m no chicken, but even I would take pause lol.

Whats the rush? Will you be able to meet the SUB on all these new accounts?

While I cant predict what Chase or Amex will do if you open another account so soon, if they were to do something, I wouldn’t be surprised.

Hahah yes I would be able to meet the sign up bonus pretty easy but I do not want to miss out on the 50,000 points and waived annual fee which is an extremely great sign up bonus

Re: Apply for PRG?

The PRG was my first AMEX CARD in the journey of rebuilding my relationship with them (after a foreclosure).  Then, came the Blue Cash (NOT Preferred), then the Everyday, and then a Hilton Honors. I went through the first year with no AF on the PRG - and now renewal time has come around. My spending habits just cannot justify the AF on the PRG (And I didn't come anywhere close to earning the SUB.) - so I called them a couple of days ago - and asked to be downgraded to the Green card (so that I could keep my points). The did this. And they also upgraded my Blue Cash to the Preferred and doubled my SL on that card. And this was after being approved last week for the Delta and for the Cash Magnet. As you can tell, I LOVE American Express - but I've decided to be reasonable about the cards that I apply for. If I can't even come close to the SUB - then, that's not the card for me. I sort of "fell into" being approved for the Delta card, but I really, really wanted the Cash Magnet. If the PRG is right for you - go for it!

Re: Apply for PRG?

I’m almost certain, Amex will have the 50k offer again in the future op.

Re: Apply for PRG?

No one can know for sure on whether Chase could take any type of AA OP. If your tolerance for risk vs reward is great, then go for it. Perhaps things will be fine, but YEMV.

That also depends on your overall profile as a whole. If your profile is not as established or AAoA is fairly short, I would pause. The 50K SUB is generally available throughout the year. Just depends where you look.
