Hey thanks again - sorry I'm just getting back to this...
The bad item is $712 from a medical bill last year that went to collections. I paid the amount in full about 3 weeks ago, so I"m hoping it will get erased from my EQ score soon. I am 33 years old.
Capital One Offers:
Quicksilver Rewards: 0% APR for 9 months, 18.49% variable after that ($100 bonus w/ $500 spend)
Venture Rewards: 18.49%variable (40k bonus miles w/ $3k spend)
Chase: Unable to locate any offers at this time
I do like to travel, but it has been mostly domestic aside from a trip to Cosa Rica last year. I am supposed to attend a wedding in Dominican Republic in September which I have not yet booked. Also, I just started a new job which could have me potentially traveling to Europe a couple times a year.
Let me know your thoughts! Cheers!

np, offers are good, is there a chase branch near you?
I got good news!! I received an email from EQ yesterday notifying me that my dispute went through and the $712 was removed from my EQ report! According to Credit Karma this boosted my EQ score by 66 points up to 730!
Credit Karma Scores:
TU: 729
EQ: 730
CreditCheckTotal Scores:
TU: 784
EQ: 661 (have not updated since the collections was removed)
EX: 770
I'm really curious to see what my real EQ score is from CCT, however I'm not eligible to run another report until tomorrow - and my 7 day free trial expires tomorrow, so I was planning to call to cancel today. Burgogne you're saying that I will still be able to log into my account tomorrow to run a new report even if I call and cancel today?
In regards to Chase - yes there are several branches in my area. Do they sometime give additional offers in-person at a branch? I'm hoping this bump to my EQ score may open up some new options for me. I'm just super excited finally have all 3 scores in the 700's!

looking good! I get a trial and cancel all in <5min. then I run it 2-3x at the 7 days end and in 10 days use the same login and get another $1 trial or wait for when I want scores again. tell me again, why dont you want to get a csr? I have had 4 people I know get it this week, one woman - long story - has an ex of 633 and got $22K. another friend got $58K but he has a perfect life lol
Thanks again! I will call and cancell my CCT membership now and plan to follow your method to check again tomorrow.
Excuse my ignorance - whats CSR? Chase Saphire Reserve?
I'm not too familiar with that card, although the 50k bonus miles ($750 value) and 3x on restuarants is enticing. The $450/annual is pretty steep though.
Would I be best to go into a Chase branch to see what they offer?

right. its 100K in the branch until sat - if you have an interest go to the branch, the banker will input your dl# and ssn and if you see a pre-approval for a csp there is a good chance you will get a positive result if you do csr app. there is a $ 300 airline credit 2x a year so you can actually make $ if you fly or stay in a hotel once in a while. urber and meters also can kick off the credit. $ 100 towards global entry. I think its the best card in the history of cards but everyone has different needs. I dont like to pay for flights, that is my need haha
I think I'll go to Chase at lunch today! Will they do a HP or SP on my credit for the approval? I'm assuming SP for approval then HP if I sign-up?
So you're saying the CSP is easier to get, but if I'm approved for that then I may also get approved for the CSR?
I'm a little confused on how the Travel Credits work. Does this mean that any time I make a purchase from the travel category, that I will see a credit show up on my account for the same amount (up to the first $300 annually - may take 1-2 months for credit to be applied)?
Adding that $300 credit on top of the $750 value of travel miles I can see why this card is a favorite. I am not currently PreCheck either, sot hat $85 credit is nice too.
That $450 annually though....

if you go to reddit there are dedicated discussions about it. if used to the max the 104K can translate to ~$2200. the csp is to me a sure fire indicator of a csr approval. one used to be able to get a pre-approval for the csr but that went away in jan. its $ 150 not $ 450 if you can cover the $ 300 in a flight or hotel. I dont have the time to get into it but if your profile supports it and you travel its sort of a no-brainer imo. to be transparent I think chase cards are the only cards that matter, I dont use any of my other cards anymore. good for padding but that is about it. again my .02
I truly do appreciate all the input and feedback. I'm reading over the Reddit page now on the CSR and planning to go to the Chase branch in a little bit to see if I get approved for the CSP in which case I'll be applying for the CSR. The ability to double-dip the $300 travel credit is the deciding factor.
Would you plan to keep the card after year 1 or downgrade to something else?

if you don't fly or hotel it might not be the right fit for you. I generally don't get cards with the purpose of burning or downgrading so I will be keeping mine. if a 2x $300 is the factor then it sounds like this is not the card for you. match the tool to the job
