I have one card with bofa and a amex zync card. I got the amex about a month to a month and half ago. I was under the impression that gold has some more benefits overall. Therefore, I would like to get the gold card. I got an invitation in the mail yesterday for the gold card and was wondering if it would be a good idea to apply or wait since my zync card is so new.
Also, is it beneficial to go with the premier version? Is it any harder to gt between the two?
Finally, If I were to get the gold card what do I do with the zync card? Just store it in a safe spot?
Thanks!
I was in the same situation as you, I waited 11 months after zync to get GOLD PR. I went with the PR card to get the 25,000 MR points. The annual fee is waived first year anyway. Yes the points are different, PR gets 3x points for airfare and 2x on groceries and gas , I believe. I never got an invitation but if you apply and get denied it will probably only be a soft pull since you are a member. YMMV. I canceled the zync when I got the gold PR, some people keep both, up to you if you can justify the fees and come out ahead or not. If you have the Gold you zync will convert to MR points too, instead of MR express (or whatever they are called with zync).

This is something I'll look into doing, when the time comes.
So should I apply? You are also talking about the premier gold. I got an invetation for just gold. I don't think I could handle the premier as the benefits roll when you put 30K plus a year on it? I don't have the horsepower for that at the moment.
Also, I ripped up my invetation a few days ago. I just gave it second thought - go figure. Therefore would their computer system know I was invited if I just apply online like anyone else?
Thx

It's totally up to you, but it's a win/win...Since you are already an Amex member, if you apply and are denied, it's only a soft pull. If you are approved, then it becomes a hard pull....
How about not using the "invitation code" will that make any difference?
What is hard pull soft pull?
