Applying by mail or online

Its a silly question but i thought I'd ask anyway . Does it make any difference ? say you get a pre approval app in the mail ... should you fill it out or just apply online ?

I doubt it makes any difference when it comes to chances of being approved. If you app online you get a much faster response and can call in and recon if need be right away. If you mail it in the wait is much longer.

Re: Applying by mail or online

I have seen people responding to a snail mail offer (with X bonus / Y spend) apply online thinking they were getting the mail offer, only to meet the spend and get less (or nothing at all).

remember, when you click the submit button online you are agreeing to whatever terms are on the ONLINE app. AMEX rings a bell.

do it online so you are not leaving someone else to do the data entry and input something wrong!

No.  The method of application doesn't change your credit.  Only difference is turnaround time.  Use whichever you prefer.
