Applying for Balance Transfer Credit Cards

Looking for some feedback about experiences some might have had with the process.

Have any of you noticed any difference with listing the accounts and balances that you're looking to transfer on the actual credit card application... or doing it after getting approved for the card?

Have you noticed that doing it one way or the other results in higher credit limits being offered, or a denial if maybe the balance is too high?

I never request BT with the intial application. I prefer to know what credit line I am approved for (if I am) then I decide to transfer . Hasn't seem to change the outcome atleast for me when I apply.

^^^ I agree with this. If you want to transfer $10K and they give you a $12K line, it's not going to look good when it hits the CRA's..
