Applying for two Amex at the same time

Have people had success in applying for two Amex cards at the same time?

I currently hold an Amex Zync that I got last May... I put $2-4,000 a monnth through the card, it is my primary card, I like it a lot.

I have accumulated 45,000 Membership Rewards Express points with this card, and I want to convert them to regular Membership Rewards Points. I intend to continue to use this card as my primary card.

I am looking to apply for two more Amex cards - another charge (Green, Gold, or Platinum) and the Blue Sky Preferred. I want the charge card many to convert the MRE points; travel benefits with Platinum could be useful, but not sure I even need them. The Blue Sky Preferred card would become my secondary card, particularly for hotel and dining spend, given that card earns 2X points on those categories. I could then use the rewards from Blue Sky Preferred on hotel spend.

Is there any way to apply for both of these cards at the same time? Is it better to do that on the phone? Want to maximize shot of approval and minimize rejection - Experian score was 690 last time I checked...

Your chances of approval are probably equal whether you apply on~line or over the phone.

Sometimes people who apply back to back with AMEX will only get a single inquiry, but YMMV on this.....

from what I've read, its a crap-shoot.  it may or may not work out for you...are you a gambler?  I would focus on getting the charge to better those rewards points, but then again, you could app for the revolver and still be in a good situation...but with a 690 score, I would wait on the revolver.  I just got approved today for a Gold card with a 690 score, but I wouldn't have tried for a revolver.  Yet you have history, and what seems to be a good one, with Amex already.  Like I said, crap-shoot.

I'd stick with another charge card and give it a year and go for the revolver if your FICO is around 690.

If you want Blue, apply for it, If you don't get it then go back and apply for the Gold Charge.
