Hilton ascend , can I upgrade to Hilton aspire once I start traveling more or are they 2 separate card ?

Yes, either by chat or phone.  Card has to be 1 year old due to the AF change needed to go up/down.

Each of the AMEX Hilton cards has a Hilton status level by default. The No AF card is Silver, Ascend/Surpass is Gold, Aspire is Diamond. By holding the card, and paying an AF you get that status as default, on night 1.

The no-AF card and Ascend/Surpass have the ability to get higher status for the next calendar year after large spend. You can also reach a higher status tier through nights, but those start from zero so that path to status is open to all. To my knowledge there is no shortcut on nights with the Hilton cards but I could be wrong.
